    JRB Commences operation

Jomoro Rural Bank Ltd was established on 13th November 1981 after it had been authorized by the Bank of Ghana to carry on the business of banking under the then banking Act, 1970 (Act 339). Since its incorporation in 1981, the bank has made a lot of impact on the lives of people in its operational areas and beyond.

The objectives for establishing the bank were to provide current, savings and fixed deposit accounts to its customers; act as agent for other financial institutions in the country; accept securities for safe keeping, act as executors or trustees of wills of small farmers and small merchants; provide finance for small scale farmers, merchants, industrialists and co-operatives within the district; and to engage in other commercial and or industrial enterprises in the bank’s catchment area.

The ever-changing nature of the banking industry, coupled with changes in regulations, technology and customer sophistication necessitated the inclusion of several products and services to the bank’s original range of services. Currently, the bank offers a range of products and services including Deposit, lending, and funds transfer products.

Sound Banking Practices

The bank has over the years recorded significant improvements in all its key performance indicators due to the sound banking practices that have been adopted by the Board and Management. There has also been a tremendous improvement in physical infrastructure and the conditions of service of all staff members and a renewed public confidence and reduction in staff attrition rate. With a current customer base of over Thirty-two thousand (32,000), the bank enjoys a significant amount of goodwill among people in its catchment area.

To ensure proper oversight over management, the bank has put in place a seven-member Board, with three subcommittees that meet regularly to review and discuss the operations of the bank. The management team comprises of the General Manager and Heads of the Operations, IT, Credit, Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance and Micro Finance departments.

The Bank has its Head Office at Tikobo No. 1, and has branches in Half Assini, Elubo, Tikobo No. 2, Aiyinasi, Jema, and Boinso.
